At Sentient Animals Vietnam (SAV), our mission is to enhance the welfare of farmed animals in Vietnam. Our current focus is improving the lives of ducks – a species that has received little attention to date.
Why farmed animals?
In the field of animal welfare, wild and companion animals have received much attention and advocacy. Meanwhile, farmed animals, who are raised by the billions for food each year, have been overlooked. Ducks, chickens, cows, pigs are all sentient beings capable of experiencing pain, stress, and wellbeing, yet the systems that produce them have historically prioritised efficiency over welfare. SAV was founded to improve the lives of these sentient beings.
Why ducks?
Ducks – despite being the second most farmed land animals not only in the country but also in the world, and farming methods becoming increasingly intensified – have not been addressed in efforts to improve animal welfare. Sentient Animals Vietnam aims to change that by collaborating directly with companies producing and sourcing duck eggs and meat, helping them adopt kinder, more humane farming practices.

Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a Corporate Engagement Manager to lead our outreach to companies in Vietnam, helping them adopt meaningful animal welfare commitments. You'll be building relationships with businesses in industries like poultry production, food manufacturing, and retail, and guiding them through the process of improving their animal welfare standards.
This is a pivotal role in a new organisation working on a neglected but important cause. You'll have significant ownership over your work and the opportunity to directly shape our approach and impact.
Research, identify and prioritise companies to engage based on their potential impact on animal welfare
Reach out to and build relationships with decision-makers at key companies
Communicate the case for animal welfare commitments persuasively
Negotiate commitments and support companies through implementation
Track engagement progress and maintain relationships with corporate partners
Contribute to corporate strategy development and refine our engagement approach based on what works
Your Profile
Based in Vietnam (preferably Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi)
Fluent in Vietnamese - you'll be communicating with companies primarily in Vietnamese.
Friendly and professional - you build rapport easily and represent our work well.
Strong written and verbal communication skills - you can communicate complex ideas clearly, persuasively, and professionally.
Proactive and reliable - you take initiative, identify opportunities, express your ideas, and follow through.
Genuine interest in improving the lives of animals - you care about our mission and are motivated by impact.
Proficient in English (written and spoken) - enough proficiency to communicate and collaborate with our team. We can provide initial support and can work bilingually if needed.
Able to travel moderately - for conferences or corporate meetings (depending on where you are based).
Preferred Traits
Understanding of Vietnamese business culture and corporate decision-making
Prior experience in animal welfare advocacy, corporate engagement, sales, or customer relationship management.
Background in industries like poultry production, retail, hospitality, or related sectors.
Familiarity with:
Hubspot
Contact databases (e.g. RocketReach, Lusha)
AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini)
Note that these are simply bonuses, not requirements. We encourage you to apply even if you do not have all these traits, as you could still be a great fit for this role.
